Liquidambar styraciflua 'Slender Silhouette' is a variety of American sweet gum, upright form with deciduous, star-shaped leaves. The leaves are dark green in summer, turning yellow to deep red in autumn. The flowers are Inconspicuous and white produced in spring. Seed-filled, spiky-textured seed pods develop and drop in the autumn, but not in great quantity. Fastigiate, or columnar, deciduous tree growing 1 metres tall and just over 1.2 metres wide. Bark develops deep furrows as the tree matures.
