Liriodendron tulipifera—common name, tulip tree is the North American representative of the two-species genus Liriodendron (the other member is Liriodendron chinense). Tulip trees are broadly conical to oval-rounded large trees.The foliage is mid- to lime-green four-lobed leaves up to 20 cm long. The autumn colour is rich golden-yellow. Flowers are fragrant, greenish-yellow, tulip-shaped flowers with orange centres borne in clusters in late spring to early summer.
The two trees in the Park were planted in 1968.
