Syringa vulgaris 'Madam Cassemer Perier'
Syringa vulgaris 'Madam Cassemer Perier' is a white flowered form of common lilac. Bred by Lemoine in 1894, name not being registered until 1953. Typical of the hybrid it grows into a largish suckering shrub 3 x 2m. Creamy buds open to double white flowers with prominent yellow anthers in midseason. This is one of the older cultivars that has been available in Australia for many years. Planted by Ellen Lyndon in 1992.
